Middle & High School Ministries

Bringing young people into the transforming presence of Christ.

Information and registration form.

T(w)een Club

6th through 8th grades, Wednesday afternoons, 5 - 7 pm, Church House

Join us for T(w)een Club Wednesday evenings from 5-7 pm. We’ll share dinner and study the Bible with Rev. Jenny McDevitt (bring all your tough questions — she’s ready for you!). Mary Huff is directing a youth choir that won’t be the same without you, so bring your joyful singing voice. We’ll mix in some games, crafts, service options, and other activities from time to time, too. Haven’t joined us on Wednesday nights before? This is the perfect chance to change that. (Want to come by right after school? That’s okay, too. There will be study hall space and snacks available for you.) To register, fill out the registration form at the top of this webpage and mail it to the church office.

Youth Worship

4th Grade through 7th Grade, during both Sunday Morning services September-May, Dana Chapel

Youth Worship is designed to teach youth about essential elements of worship as they engage in an interactive worship service centered on the lectionary. After the Lesson for Young Christians, youth are dismissed from the Sanctuary and are invited to participate in a service created for them. This intimate style of worship helps youth better understand the elements of worship, while providing them with leadership opportunities. Youth enter the Sanctuary and sit with their families during the doxology to share in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday Youth Hour

6th through 8th grade, 10:10 -11:00 am, Youth Lounge.

Who are the people you look up too? How do they show love toward God and others in an inspirational way? Join us on Sunday Mornings as we discover Faces of Our Faith! We will use popular movie clips, characters from books, and people we personally know to explore how they live into their faith and how God calls us to do the same! Middle and High Schooler are invited to join Christina on Sunday morning at 10:10 am beginning September 9, 2018.

Teen Trips around NYC

Periodically throughout the year, 8th grade+

Teenagers take trips around sites in New York City that look at how Christian faith interacts with the world. Includes trips to the MET, the American Museum of Natural History, the United Nations, and more.

8th grade+, October 15- May 13 at 1:00 pm, Youth Lounge

Throughout scripture, we read stories. Stories of people gathered together to read Jewish law, Jesus making new friends with strangers based on interpreting (or reinterpreting) scripture, and Jesus’s closest friends questioning their faith. In each of these instances, Jesus reassures the people around him that they can trust in him. He does this by acknowledging their questions and redefining what it means to believe in God.

This year’s Confirmation Class will allow students to bring their questions, as we seek answers together--questions about the Bible, about who Jesus is, what it means to be Presbyterian and current events. Most importantly, we will learn together what it means to be a member of the Church and seek to follow God’s will for our lives.

Youth Sunday

This year Youth Sunday will take place on June 2, 2019. Sign ups will take place in February!
